Melanoma Network of Canada

Melanoma Canada (formerly The Melanoma Network of Canada) was founded in 2009 by Annette Cyr — a patient and three-time survivor of melanoma — to respond to the need for patients in Canada to have a nationally-based organization to coordinate education and prevention efforts.

Melanoma Canada provides a strong voice for advocacy while assisting in efforts to target funding for melanoma research.

Mashup Creative Strategy, in collaboration with several other organizations, was tasked with acting as the marketing and communications lead in the development of a new sub-brand (Screen Me) as well as an integrated communications strategy directed at building sun safety awareness for 11-17-year-olds during a 10-week pilot program across Ontario.

The campaign included the development of the visual identity and key messaging for Screen Me, a kid-centric parallax website, social media, contesting, experiential elements at participating summer camps (an educational program, swag, digital recognition of participants, etc.), content-driven efforts (including blogging and the production of two short, amusing videos) and public relations efforts, among others.

“We had the pleasure of working with Mashup (formerly Ripple) on a project of significant scale and importance. Their passion and creativity for their work quickly shone through. They provided us with an amazing marketing, communications, and multimedia platform to support our youth sun awareness program. We were impressed with their innovative approach that provided us with the tools we needed.”
