In the world of music, a mashup is a new song created by combining often unlikely snippets, samples, and loops from other bits of music and audio sources. The creative sum is greater than the parts.
That’s what Mashup Creative Strategy is all about.

With nearly 25 years of award-winning executive experience across strategic marketing, communications, digital publishing, and creative leadership in the financial services, technology and innovation, non-profit, and media/music/entertainment industries, Chris has been around the block a few times—and has the grey hair to prove it.
Over the years, Chris has become a recognized expert in brand and audience-building and achieving organizational goals through content and creative efforts, marrying pragmatic marketing strategy with a data-based approach— all surrounded by a delicious candy coating: the big, exciting, creative idea.
Over 4,500 people follow Chris’ ramblings about marketing, communications, creativity, technology, psychology, and entrepreneurship on Linkedin. You could be among them, if you’re into that sort of thing.
As a lifelong technology nerd, Chris was there at the dawn of the digital publishing world, as co-founder of the long-gone-but-not-forgotten music blog, SoundProof Magazine, which started with three bored music obsessives hanging out in a food court and grew to a team of over 100 contributors in 10 countries and marketing relationships with every major music festival in Canada.
More recently, Chris was also asked to join a small group of content and digital experts to create the curriculum for the Multimedia Storytelling & Content Marketing certificate course at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, where he also taught Foundations of Digital and Multimedia Storytelling.
Chris has worked closely with senior executives in strategic advisory roles for organizations like Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, MaRS Discovery District (the world’s largest urban technology innovation hub,) KPMG, Film at Lincoln Center, the Gardiner Museum, Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, the Univerity of Toronto, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and BronxNet Community Television, among many others.
Earlier in his career, Chris honed his marketing/communications/creative skills at organizations like the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), CIBC Wood Gundy, MRM Digital, Morningstar Research, and Franklin Templeton Investments.
Outside of his work in marketing/communications and as a creative leader, Chris has been an actor, musician, writer, amateur photographer, investor, and champion for LGBTQ+ rights. His favorite job title will always be Dad, however.
